Clean your appliances, especially the refrigerator, freezer and stove,  before you store them. Bacteria and mold are the enemies, don’t feed them!

In general, don’t cover your belongings with plastic – moisture can build up on the furniture side of the plastic (think of window moisture in the mornings)  and that could lead to mildew and mold. We use paper pads and mattress cartons when we can.

When the packing crew comes, they tend to pack everything. Although we never want to pack medications, it has happened inadvertently. Keep all medications in a safe place.

Remember to check under the mattress before the movers come. Please remind the “teens” in the house that the movers will be taking the beds apart and moving the dressers.
